Myself, Ashok Tapase.

Follower of Tathagata Buddha. Practitioner of Buddhist philosophy (Tipitaka), practitioner of Pali language, and researcher of History of Emperor Ashoka and his inscriptions.

“Dhammapada,” a collection of sutras explaining Buddha’s philosophy, I translated the Dhammapada into Marathi as a book titled “Muktipath.”

Inspired by Emperor Ashoka’s propagation of Dhamma, I am a researcher and scholar of his Rock & pillar inscriptions. I have personally seen and studied all of Emperor Ashoka’s Rock & Pillar inscriptions found in India and Nepal. I have authored a book on all of these Rock & Pillar inscriptions. It is titled “Piyadasi Rañjña Hevam Aha…” (पियदसि राञा हेवं आहा …). This book was originally written in Marathi. Ten years after its publication, I translated it into Hindi and published another book. This book contains the original Bramhi versions of the inscriptions on Rocks & Pillars, the Devanagari transliteration, and modern language translations (Marathi/Hindi).

During my trip to India to see Emperor Ashoka’s Rock & Pillar inscriptions, I took numerous photographs and Videos. I created a series of Videos based on these images. I have uploaded these videos, my speeches, and other video clips to YouTube. You can view them at My you Tube channel.

I have revised the meaning of Emperor Ashoka’s Minor Fiats with a new reference … This has led to the appropriate determination of the year of the Buddha’s Mahaparinirvana, resolving the controversy over the timing.

Based on this determination, I have created the Indian Buddhist luni-solar calendar, which I have named “Bodhi Samvachara.”

You can read this in a Book in PDF format at Bodhi Samvachhar.

You can even see this calendar in digital form here.
